As we heard during his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Adam Rippon has a huge crush on Shawn Mendes, so he made sure to take advantage of the moment when he crossed paths with the teen sensation during festivitiy for Sunday night's (March 4) 90th annual Acadamy Awards.
Rippon took to social media a day after the big event to share a selfie he took with the 19-year-old singer and you can just tell that he was loving every single moment of the photo opp. "I planted the seed and I saw the harvest. He is cute, he is sweet, and the other guy is @ShawnMendes," the Olympic figure skater tweeted of his hot shot with the singer, who is rumored to be dating Hailey Baldwin.
During his appearance of Ellen last Thursday, the 28-year-old star spoke about how his Olympic experience has offered him international fame as well as some online connections with folks like Reese Witherspoon and Britney Spears. Rippon also dished on his romantic interests, admitting that he's moved on from Harry Styles and now can't stop swooning over Jake Gyllenhaal and Mendes. "I was sleeping on Shawn Mendes — not with," he said with a smile. "I didn't realize how cute he was. I know Harry will be upset. I know. Love is a funny thing."
Earlier in the evening, Rippon turned heads on the Oscars red carpet, wearing an S&M-inspired harness by Moschino. On Saturday, Jeremy Scott, the creative director of Moschino, posted a photo of himself with Rippon and Mirai Nagasu, another American Olympic figure skater. In the caption for the photo, Scott told his followers that Mr. Rippon would be on the red carpet "slaying in Moschino" and indeed he did.
