Southern California sheriff's deputies say they had to do a double take after they spotted a man wearing a Donald Trump mask slashing tires and smashing up a parked vehicle in Mission Viejo early Monday morning.
According to a Facebook post from the Orange County Sheriff's Department, deputies were conducting a routine patrol near some businesses in the the Cabot-Vista Viejo area at around 4 a.m. when they spotted someone resembling President Donald Trump slashing the tires and breaking the windshield of a parked vehicle.
"[Deputies] had to do a double take when they saw a person resembling President Trump slashing tires and breaking the windshield of a parked vehicle," the department wrote in their Facebook post.
The suspect was safely arrested and taken to jail, authorities said.
The Trump mask wasn't the only thing the suspect was carrying with him at the time. Police said the person was also found carrying a loaded handgun, body armor, an airsoft shotgun, as well as a helmet. The suspect's car had fake license plates and amber "takedown" lights attached to its windshield.
Authorities have not yet identified the suspect, or provided any other details about the incident.
