Lilly Singh Talks YouTube and Her Transition to Late Night Television

YouTuber Lilly Singh called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday, September 18, to talk about her new late night talk show and had a little advice for those who want to follow in her footsteps.

In 2010 Lilly launched her YouTube channel and gained a massive following by doing amazingly clever, funny things and sketches. So, what advice does Lilly have for those wanting to start their own YouTube channel?

"You have to find something that you actually care about. Social media is so 24/7 and it would be exhausting to continuously talk about something or create content that you didn't actually care about," she explains. "I say 'Forget about all the other noise. What do you actually care about and what do you actually want to create?'"

Great advice, Lilly!

This week the internet star also launched her new late night talk show A Little Late with Lilly Singh, so what can fans expect from the show?

"I'm going to have the same type of vibes I had on YouTube, positive, uplifting, comedic, light hearted. I start it with a monologue that's very personal to me, it's my point of view, very much so based on my experiences," she explains. "There is going to be a fair amount of sketch. I love music. I love music parody. I love rap. And I have some great conversations with some awesome people that are guests on my show."

You can catch A Little Late with Lilly Singh weeknights at 1:35/12:35c on NBC.
