Taco Bell Is Adding A Dragonfruit Freeze To Menus For Limited Time Only

Taco Bell may have said goodbye to a number of popular menu items this year, but this latest addition might just make up for it. On Thursday (September 24), Taco Bell introduced new Dragonfruit Freeze drink to menus and it sounds delicious.

According to Taco Bell, the Dragonfruit Freeze is "a tropical frozen beverage swirled with a burst of dragonfruit flavor." What is dragonfruit flavor, exactly? The fast casual chain says that "despite its name, the Dragonfruit Freeze has virtually nothing to do with actual dragons. But, it’s certainly mythical. And its tropical sweetness is sure to be the stuff of legends." Not only that, Taco Bell promises "one sip of this sweet Freeze and you’ll be transported to tropical parts unknown."

While a new menu item is always exciting, many Taco Bell customers are still mourning Mexican Pizza, Pico de Gallo and shredded chicken, which were removed from circulation to help the chain "streamline" its menu. Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, Loaded Grillers and Nachos Supreme. The Grilled Steak Soft Taco, 7 Layer Burrito and Triple Layer Nachos were also retired from Taco Bell menus this year, while the popular Quesarito is now only be available from the in-restaurant menu.

It's not all bad news, though. In addition to the Dragonfruit Freeze, Taco Bell also introduced the Chicken Chipotle Melt, a new green sauce and are even testing a Quesalupa at locations in Knoxville, Tennessee. "Our fan favorite Quesalupa is finally starting its journey back to menus nationwide next year, kicking off on September 24 with a test in Knoxville, Tennessee," Taco Bell wrote. "We’ve taken our classic chalupa shell and stuffed it with a cheese blend of real pepper jack and mozzarella so there is delicious melty cheese throughout."

Customers can pick up Dragonfruit Freeze in two sizes—regular and large. A regular Dragonfruit Freeze will set you back $2.49, while a large costs just twenty cents more. The Dragonfruit Freeze will be available only at participating locations for a limited-time. Will you be giving this new menu item a try?
