If you're like us, you were glued to the TV streaming Mare of Easttown on HBO Max but it took some convincing for actress Julianne Nicholson. The Emmy nominee joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Wednesday, September 15, and shared pal Kate Winslet had to convince her to sign on.
As her life crumbles around her, the series follows Kate, a small-town Pennsylvania detective Mare Sheehan, who investigates a local murder. Julianne plays her BFF in the show.
"Yeah, she knew the whole arc of the series … and I was not given that final episode," Julianne shared with Seacrest, revealing even she didn't know the shocking ending. "… And so it was her convincing and assuring me there would be enough there to make it worth it."
That said, it wasn't hard.
"I love her. She’s one of my all-time favorites so to get to work opposite her [was amazing], but yeah I was nervous! I didn’t know what it was going to be … but I’m glad I said yes.”
Both Julianne and Kate are up for Emmys this weekend for their performances in the series.
