Zayn Malik has new music on the way.

On Wednesday (February 4), the English singer, 33, announced his upcoming fifth studio album KONNAKOL will release in April, but fans will get their first peek at the new project in the lead single, "Die for Me," out Friday (February 6). The record is a follow-up to his 2024 album Room Under The Stairs.

"It's that time again, I have been lucky enough to make a fifth studio album..." he said said on Instagram, sharing the album artwork of his face morphed with a snow leopard.

Earlier this month, the One Direction album teased new music coming "pretty soon" during his residency at the Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas and even performed his upcoming single "Die for Me" along with several unreleased tracks.

In a statement, Malik broke down the meaning of the "pop-forward" album's title and how he continues to draw inspiration from his heritage, per NME.

"'Konnakol' in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one's voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper," he said. "It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed. I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music — this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go."

KONNAKOL drops April 17.
