It wasn't but hours after she gave us an amazing performance at the Billboard Music Awards that Kelly Clarkson had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery to have her appendix removed! Now she's revealed that while filming the VOICE, a cyst on her ovary burst!
“Blake [Shelton]was talking to me and all of a sudden, everything he said just went away and I had to grab his arm and I was like, 'Something is wrong,'" she tells the mag. "That was more painful than the appendicitis.”
She adds, "It was literally a week after my surgery so I was freaking out! I was hysterically laughing and crying at one point in the E.R. like 'What is happening?'"
Kelly is going to be on TV a lot more these days with her new NBC talk show launching September 9th, and she tells the mag that she’s made it a point to work the show around her very busy schedule as a mom of two, five-year-old River and three-year-old Remy, as well as two step kids, 18-year-old Savannah and 12-year-old Seth.
“When we were doing the schedule for the show, I was like, ‘I have to drop my kids off at school.’ And I’m always the one who puts them to bed,” she says, noting, “You just have to prioritize and juggle and make people know it’s an important thing. And don’t feel guilty about it.” She adds, “I want to make sure they come first.”
