As we all know, the Oscars was this past weekend and we got a preview of a bunch of new things coming to TV and the big screen. One of those is “Mary Poppins Returns.” Disney chose to share the trailer of the much-anticipated sequel during the 90th Academy Awards and now we're all ready for more.
There's not much to see in the trailer, but they leave us in suspense for sure! All we do know is Emily Blunt acts as the spunky Nanny floating down from the sky on a kite. There is also a scene referencing Dick Van Dyke's chimney sweep from the original musical. In fact, Van Dyke appears in a different role, as the son of the frugal banker, Mr. Dawes.
“Mary Poppins Returns” reprises Jane and Michael as grownups (Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw). They reunite with their magical Nanny in Depression Era London, more than two decades after the original film. Just thinking about this Movie makes me feel supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. The movie is supposed to hit theaters Christmas Day!
