Seems sex is not a priority for many Americans these days. A new survey found that 24% of respondents said they want a break from sex, and 52% have already taken an extended break from it – lasting 6 months on average.
Other survey findings:
•30% believe romance is dead.
•69% of singles are happy being single and aren’t actively looking for a relationship. Just 21% say they are actively looking for a romantic partner.
•55% said they would rather fall in love with life than with another person.
•59% of singles said a relationship is not something they need right now.
•Those surveyed see intimacy as just 37% about sex and 57% about emotional connection.
•76% said they express intimacy in non-sexual ways.
•53% said a sex break helped them better appreciate physical intimacy. Only 11% felt it had a negative impact.
•47% said romantic relationships focus too much on the future rather than living in the moment.
• 49% said past relationships had been “ruined” by societal pressure.
